Friendship

Please join us!

In the last year we carried out over 2200 jobs for the community. We have nearly 70 volunteer helpers at the moment but would like more. Being a volunteer can take as much or little of your time as you choose.

Drivers:-

Becoming a volunteer driver is easy. Contact us and come and have a chat. Tell us how often you would be able to do trips and at what times and days you would be free to do them. You can do as many or few as you wish. After taking up references and a CRB check, you would then be put on our volunteer list and telephoned some time in advance of a job by our office volunteers and asked if you would be free to take it on. The jobs always commence in our catchment area but can finish outside it, but you are not always required to wait to bring clients home as they often return from hospitals by taxi.

Driving is an interesting and worthwhile part of our overall care and you soon get to know the clients. Your petrol cost can also be covered.

Office Workers:-

From time to time we need people to run the office in St Lukes House. This would normally involve a couple of hours in the morning telephoning members of the KNA and speaking to clients and volunteers to arrange jobs.

Other Tasks:-

Shopping, befriending, light gardening and other tasks are undertaken by our volunteers.

If you think you could help in any way, please phone us for a chat or drop us a letter or email and we will contact you.

Clients:-

If you know of anyone who needs help, please contact the office and let them know.
